Mary Kane, an editorial and production specialist with more than 20 years of publishing experience, has proven she can do it all. She is a leader adept at harnessing the energy and talent of those under her supervision to make it happen – on target and on time. Throughout her 23-year tenure with Travel Weekly she has been building on the editorial skill that first led her into publishing as a copy editor and writer. She has added a thorough knowledge of layout, including such technical disciplines as page building in QuarkXpress, Quark Publishing System, pre-flighting and post-scripting files, to encompass the entire production process from computer to plate printing. |
For the past two years, she has been a managing editor in the Tactical Marketing department at Northstar Travel Media, parent company of Travel Weekly. Her duties included hiring freelance writers, editing copy, overseeing art directors, and coordinating schedules with advertisers and printers to produce customized advertorial supplements. Currently, she is an editorial consultant providing writing and editorial management services to a variety of clients, including Carlson Wagonlit Travel and Jobson Publishing. Whether she’s writing a cruise column, updating a web site or coordinating an e-news service you can be sure of one thing: accuracy, timeliness and quality are the hallmarks of any finished product she touches. |
